Love Ray-ban aviators, just not these folding types

When I saw these I thought they would be very cool. I love ray-ban aviators and have had a variety of types..However not all that thrilled with the folding variety.. First they seem really, really fragile. So much so it would appear you would easily damage them the frames and folding mechanism seem, thin.The folding up mechanism is kinda cool, but one problem is that depending on how you have the bridge pads adjusted it binds up so that they seem, sorta tweaked and torked...The little storage box they come with is cute, but there is a ton of space left. Would have rather seen a smaller hard case that took advantage of the folded sunglasses. This could make the case 1/2 the current size.And Worst of all they fit crappy compared to regular aviators. To make it all fold up just right, the bridge pads seem much lower than on regular aviators which makes them rest lower on your nose. For me they end up feeling uncomfortable.I wouldn't recommend them without trying them on in person first...

First off, I am not a Ray-Ban fan. Never have been; mostly I feel like they are overhyped and overpriced.But I tried these on in the shop and they fit my head and face surprisingly well. Color me impressed.They have a nice weight to them, not insubstantial. They feel durable despite the folding mechanisms.The lenses are high quality, as you would expect in this price range.I appreciate the folding mechanism and I think it's neat but sometimes it is problematic when I'm wearing them. The extra joints in the arms and nose will bend and distort the fit if I'm not careful. I have to fiddle with them after unfolding them to get everything locked in place and make sure the nosepieces haven't drifted. Mostly a matter of getting the nose to sit properly to minimize this but still annoying enough at times to make note.The case leaves a little to be desired... I agree with the reviewer who says that it is a bit big which defeats some of the purpose of owning folding glasses. Other than that it is fine for tossing them in my bag and not worrying about the lenses getting scratched or the frame getting bent.Overall, great shades and I'm impressed. I don't regret buying the folding model but unless you find it novel (like I do!) you are probably better off with the classic no-fold version.

Aside from the classic style and functionality -- Foldable feature is the best! It's so handy and it does not occupy a lot of space in my bag unlike other shades!
